NYPD Warns of Chlorine Terror Risk/How to make a chlorine bomb
NEW YORK (AP) – Undercover police secretly set up a fake company to demonstrate how easily and anonymously a terrorist could purchase chlorine on the Internet for a deadly chemical strike against the city.
A videotape—prepared for a briefing Wednesday of private security executives—discloses for the first time the results of the operation.
The purpose was “to assess the ease or difficulty with which a terrorist in the United States could acquire large quantities of chlorine without being detected by law enforcement or intelligence agencies,” a narrator says on a copy of the video obtained by The Associated Press.
The conclusion: “At the present time, few if any barriers stand in his way.”
There has been no specific terror threat against the city involving chemicals, but New York City police recently put more emphasis on screening shipments of chlorine after learning that it has become a favored component of homemade bombs in Iraq.
A 2007 United Nations report found that at least 10 attacks in Iraq involved explosives attached to chlorine canisters.

I’ve never heard of a chlorine bomb before. And why is it that it’s always the police who are always involved in terroristic activities? You’d think they would be too busy strip searching women and tasering kids to be involved with this stuff.
I wanted to see if this was “easier” to make than TATP, and thanks to Google, I found the recipe on Everything2.com.
As it turns out, to make a chlorine bomb you’d need powdered chlorine tablets, rubbing alcohol, and a plastic soda bottle. The mixture of the chlorine powder and the rubbing alcohol creates chlorine gas which quickly starts filling up in the bottle until the bottle explodes. If you remembered to put the cap on, that is. The explosion is very loud, however, that’s all it does. If you’re too close, you might get burned, but that’s about it. Inhaling the gas for an extended period of time can also burn you pretty badly. And since we all know that whenever a bomb goes off people freeze for hours at a time, this bomb can be pretty harmful.
The U.N. is saying they’ve found 10 attacks in Iraq involving explosives attached to chlorine canisters. The ones I’ve founds over the internet just state they had trucks filled with explosives and some chlorine bottles. I guess one might need some real explosives if one wanted to detonate a truck, rather than disinfect it.
Maybe the Iraqis need to get their chlorine bomb recipes straight, but then again, they might be too busy trying to not get blown up by our very real bombs. It would also be kind of hard to surf the internet when you haven’t had power for 3 years.
I think if the “terorists” wanting to blow us up were smart, they would learn from that meteorite that crashed in Peru and blow up a water supply line containing arsenic. That way, or so we’ve been told, the arsenic fumes would get people sick.
Even better, how about just bringing down one of our satellites. They run on Plutonium, you know. Remember that Russian spy that got killed by a bit of Plutonium? Crash something like that in an urban area and watch the fireworks. Then again, that may already be in the works.
Natural Defense Against Bacteria and Viruses
Silver has been used since the Middle Ages to disinfect and make water drinkable. People would drop silver coins in their barrels and buckets of water.
Silver, or rather the charge it carries, kills bacteria and viruses by disrupting the electromagnetic bonds that holds them together.
There are countless silver products out there and even Dr. Bill Deagle at the Granada Forum said to go out and buy colloidal silver masks because they kill bacteria and viruses in the air before they get to you.
This particular silver solution, SilverBioticsTM, is not really colloidal silver. To make colloidal silver, people dissolve silver salts into water, basically making silver chloride, which can be dangerous and do more harm than good. Depending on the manufacturer, colloidal silver solutions can contain up to 500,000ppm per teaspoon. Long-term use of these products can cause argyria, a permanent bluish coloring of the skin caused by the silver being deposited in the tissues. The original Blue Man in the Blue Man Group had a classical case of argyria. However, it’s interesting to note that argyria is the only side effect of “overdosing” on silver. It does not damage any organs or cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. You just turn into a smurf. It’s kind of neat. But I guess it didn’t bother
If you don’t think there’s any bacteria or viruses on your meat, check out this FDA article where they are explaining why they are spraying a live virus cocktail on lunchmeats.
